A synopsis of my life and work as an artist

I have been a professional watercolour artist for over 20 years, living and working in Snowdonia for 14 years. As well as exhibitions in both North Wales and France, I hold regular workshops with my wife Elizabeth Marsden-King, covering a variety of topics to teach this most technical of all the mediums. We also run sketching and painting courses in Snowdonia and France.

As well as writing regular articles for two national art magazines, I was also a guest lecturer for Saga and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. This enabled me to sketch and paint all over the world.

My main love (after my wife!) is painting, sketching and walking in the mountains of Snowdonia. The more atmospheric (rain!) the weather, the better for me, as this is when I see the wild landscape, the light, the colours and enjoy meeting the individuals who make Snowdonia so unique.

I also demonstrated and ran two workshops at `The Art Materials Live`(NEC), with Liz, for`Leisure Painter`.

My work has been bought worldwide and have work in the permanent collection at Bangor University, North Wales.

I have exhibited at the following:
- Royal Cambrian Academy Open in 2007
- Westminster Hall, London
- Solo exhibition at the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea
- Oriel Ynys Mon, Anglesey
- Electric Mountain, Llanberis, Snowdonia
- Theatre Clwyd, Mold, near Chester
- Dee Fine Art Gallery, Heswall, The Wirral, Cheshire
- Regularly exhibited for the National Trust at Penrhyn Castle, North Wales

I have also exhibited for a fine art gallery and exhibit with a professional art association in southern France every year.
